STUDIO POLICIES

Private Lesson Policy

Materials:

Students are expected to bring all required materials with them each week. Teachers will discuss required books, materials, and sheet music with parents. Parents have the option of buying the materials directly, or request Upbeat purchase the materials for them, for which they will be billed for the price of materials, along with a $2 service fee.

Practice:

Students are expected to practice regularly, as it will help them progress. Guardians are highly encouraged to monitor/encourage practice. Depending on the instrument of study, some teachers may require memorization, research, music theory, analyzing music, and more. Communication with your teacher is key.

Private Lesson Attendance Policy

Students are expected to be punctual, as lessons will not go over their time slot to accommodate tardiness. One make up lesson is allowed per quarter (3 months) to accommodate illness, emergencies, vacations, and other absences; however, if the studio/teacher is not given 24 hours notice, no make up lesson will be offered and the guardian will be billed for the missed lesson. Any absences outside the one allowed absence per quarter will be billed as usual. Communication with your teacher is key.

Zoom lessons are offered for students who cannot attend in person due to illness, vacation, or other circumstances.

If a teacher has to cancel a lesson due to illness, emergencies, or other absences, make-up lessons will be scheduled. Guardians will not be billed, if a make-up lesson cannot be arranged.

Private Lesson Payment Policy

Due:

Payments are expected on the first of each month. Upbeat programs are tuition based, meaning the amount of payments are taken from a yearly average, and not on how many lessons there are per month.

Late Policy:

If payments aren’t received by the 5th of each month, a $5 late fee will be applied to the bill.

Discontinuation Policy:

If participants would like to stop attending lessons/classes, the studio must be given 7 days notice prior to the next billing due date, or there will be a $10 late discontinuation fee. This allows the studio to fill the empty slot before the next billing cycle. Students are expected to attend all lessons/classes until the billing cycle is over, since it has already been paid for. If the student stops attending mid-month, payments will not be refunded for the rest of the month.

Group Class Payment Policy

Group class tuition is based on a yearly price, and is not determined by how many classes are in a month. Therefore, each month will cost the same amount all year long. Classes are priced differently based upon many factors including, age of students, number of participants, price of materials, level of education and more.

Due:

Payments are due on the 1st of each month.

Late Fee:

There will be a $5 late fee applied for payments received after the 5th of each month.

Semester Classes:

Payment is due the week classes start. Cost is based on total weeks included in semester. Payment is paid in full at the beginning of the semester. Monthly installments can be worked out by contacting Samantha Allen.

Group Class Attendance Policy
Students are expected to attend every class. There will be no make-up classes for missed classes and no refunds. Please reach out if there are questions.

If for any reason a teacher cancels the class, parents will be credited for the next month.
